What are lash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are an enhancement of the length and fullness of your own natural lashes using strands of synthetic hair. The extensions come in different lengths and and curls to blend with the natural lashes. It’s a lash by lash application isolating each and every lash to maintain the health and integrity of your lash. They are seamless and weightless so you won’t even notice after they have been applied.

How are lash extensions applied?

Clients come in and lay down slanted in our comfy recliners while lashes are being applied for 1.5 to 2 hours. A mini consultation will take place prior to the appointment so that the artist can make sure to select the appropriate length, curl, thickness, and style that suits the clients needs. The extensions will be dipped in a small amount of glue and the attached to the base of the natural lash.

How to take care of lash extensions?

Please do not wet or soak your lashes in water for at least 24 hours after application because the adhesive needs time to bond and cure fully before they are immersed in water.

Afterward please brush and wash your lashes daily using a lash shampoo.

Do not use oil-based products in or around your eyes including skin care products.

Do not rub your eyes

After workouts or swimming rinse and wash your lashes

Be mindful of hair dryers, hot stoves, saunas, ovens, and fires as they can burn and singe your lashes.

Make sure you book your appointment for your fill at 2 to 2.5 weeks to maintain the fullness because lashes grow and shed daily.

Can I swim, exercise, or attend a spa/hot yoga?

Yes but these activities cause excessive heat and sweating and that can cause your

lash extensions to shed prematurely due to the weakening of the adhesive.

Why do lashes sometimes shed prematurely?

There’s actually a lot of chemistry involved in lashing. If the temperature is not stable and the humidity is too high or too low sometimes the adhesive doesn’t cure all the way causing lashes to shed. Humidifiers can be used to help maintain the amount of moisture in the air as well as having a variety of different kinds of adhesives designed to dry in different conditions.

What about allergic reactions and lash sensitivity?

In rare cases clients can develop an allergic reaction causing swelling red, itchy, or puffy eyes. The effects should subside within 48 hours.  Clients can take an antihistamine or apply a cold compress to help. If the swelling doesn’t subside we can remove them using a chemical remover. It can take up to 30 minutes and requires an appointment.
